Wegovy Pill Cost: Every Dose and Every Way to Pay

Without insurance, the Wegovy pill costs $149 to $299 a month from Novo Nordisk's own pharmacy, depending on the dose. The 1.5 mg starter bottle is $149, the 4 mg bottle is $199, and the 9 mg and 25 mg maintenance bottles are $299 each.^[1] With commercial insurance that covers it, the savings offer can bring it to as little as $25 a month. On Medicare, the GLP-1 Bridge charges a $50 copay for eligible people.^[1][5]

Wegovy pill price at each dose

The dose schedule comes from the FDA label, which starts every adult at 1.5 mg and steps up every 30 days to 25 mg.^[4] Each strength is sold as a bottle of 30 tablets.^[4] Novo Nordisk's list price, the figure insurers negotiate from, is $1,349.02 a package; the self-pay prices above replace it for cash buyers.^[1] Some older pages still show $149 for 4 mg; NovoCare's current price for that dose is $199.^[1]

Following the label's schedule, the first twelve bottles (360 days) cost $3,338 at NovoCare self-pay prices: $149, $199 and $299 for the first three months, then nine months at $299. After that, a full year on 25 mg is about $3,640.

Wegovy pill cost with commercial insurance

If your commercial plan covers the pill, Novo Nordisk's savings offer lets you pay as little as $25 a month, with savings capped at $100 a month.^[1] The fine print matters:

• The $100 cap. If your copay is $125, you pay $25. If it is $400, the offer takes off $100 and you pay $300.^[1]
• It is for pharmacy pickup. NovoCare lists the insurance offer for local pharmacy pickup only.^[2]
• Government insurance is excluded. Medicare, Medicaid and other government beneficiaries cannot use it.^[1]
• It may be time-limited. NovoCare's pharmacy page describes it as $25 a month “for up to 3 months.”^[3]

Wegovy pill cost with Medicare

Since July 1, 2026, Medicare covers the Wegovy pill for weight management through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, at a $50 copay for a one-month supply.^[5] The program covers Wegovy as an injection or a tablet, and it runs through December 31, 2027.^[5][6]

• You need Medicare drug coverage (Part D) and must meet the program's clinical criteria.^[5]
• Your prescriber sends the prescription and completes a prior authorization when asked, and must certify that you are using the drug alongside a diet and exercise program.^[5]
• Once approved, the authorization covers refills and dose changes through December 31, 2027, unless you switch GLP-1s.^[5]

Wegovy pill price through a telehealth seller

Some sellers publish a Wegovy pill figure that leaves something out: either a membership fee with the medication billed separately at NovoCare's price, or a pill price with the membership extra. These are Bloom MD ($75 a month), FORM ($95 a month), MEDVi ($99 a month) and WeightWatchers Clinic ($149 a month). Any monthly fee is added to NovoCare's price. At 25 mg, a fee of $50 or more brings the month to at least $349, the injection's own self-pay price. Wegovy pill vs. Wegovy injection: cost per month

At maintenance, the pill is about $50 a month cheaper than the 2.4 mg injection, and a little more than that once you account for the injection's 28-day box.^[1] During the first two months the gap narrows or reverses: new patients pay $199 a month for the injection's first two doses, through December 31, 2026, against $149 and $199 for the pill.^[1] The label says 25 mg tablets produce blood levels comparable to the 2.4 mg injection, with more variation from person to person.^[4] Whether that translates into the same weight loss is covered in is the pill as good as the shot, and the injection's own prices are on Wegovy cost. How to take the Wegovy pill so you do not waste a dose

Only about 1% to 2% of each tablet's semaglutide reaches the blood, and it is absorbed mainly in the stomach, so a tablet taken the wrong way can mean paying for a dose you did not absorb.^[4] The label's rules:

1. Each morning, before any food, swallow one tablet with a small amount of plain water, 4 ounces at most. Coffee, tea and juice do not count as water.^[4]
2. Keep the tablet intact: no splitting, crushing or chewing.^[4]
3. Hold off on breakfast, other drinks and any other pills for 30 minutes or more.^[4]
4. Missed a morning? Let it go and resume the next day. Doubling up is not allowed.^[4]
