What is Subcutaneous (subq) injection?

Subcutaneous injection is delivered into the layer of fat beneath the skin rather than into muscle.

Everything injectable in this class is given that way, Wegovy and Ozempic through Zepbound, Mounjaro, Saxenda, Victoza and Trulicity. Usual spots are the belly (staying a couple of inches clear of the navel), the thigh at the front, or the upper arm at the back, and you move the spot each week.
