Wegovy Storage at a Glance
Source: Wegovy FDA prescribing information via DailyMed (SetID ee06186f-2aa3-4990-a760-757579d8f77b), Section 16.2 How Supplied/Storage and Handling, read on 2026-07-12. Treat this as a summary: the full label and the patient instructions in your box are the authority.
Handling the pen or vial
Once you start using it: the in-use window is 56 days after first use (FlexTouch pen) / 28 days (single-dose pen or syringe). Write down the day you first used it — on the device itself or in your calendar — because the label says discard at the end of that window regardless of how much is left.
The carton it arrived in is the light protection, and the obvious place to write the first-use date, so keep the pen or vial inside it wherever you can. Between doses the needle comes off; a pen should never be stored with one attached.
Traveling with Wegovy
Check which product you are carrying first. The tablet, the rarer of the two, wants a bottle at ordinary room temperature and nothing else — no ice, no cooler, just keep it dry. The injection is the one that needs planning: chill it in an insulated bag, or work inside the warm window, which is 28 days for a single-dose pen or syringe and 56 for the FlexTouch.
